Privacy Policy

Salah Locator ("we", "the app", "the service") helps you find mosques, prayer times,
announcements, events and set prayer reminders. This policy explains what data the website
and the Android app collect, how it is used, and your choices. It applies to the Android app
(package app.abdohoo.sl) and this website.
Information we collect
- Account information (optional): if you create an account, we store your name, email address and an encrypted password. Browsing mosques and prayer times does not require an account.
- Approximate & precise location (optional): when you choose "Use my location", "Pray Now" or the Qibla finder, your device location is used to find nearby mosques and compute the Qibla direction. Coordinates are sent to our server only to return nearby results; we do not store your location history or link it to your identity. Location is used only while the app is in use — never in the background.
- Your content: saved (favourite) mosques and, for mosque administrators, the mosque details, timings, announcements and events you publish.
- Notifications: with your permission, we send prayer-time reminders and updates from mosques you follow. Prayer alarms are scheduled on your device.
- Crash reports (diagnostics): if the app crashes, a technical report is sent to our server so we can fix the problem. It contains the app version, the device model, the Android version and the technical error trace — no name, email, location or other personal identifier is attached. Reports are used only for debugging and are deleted once the issue is resolved.
- Website analytics: pages you visit on this website are counted using Cloudflare Web Analytics. It uses no client-side state at all — no cookies, no local storage — and does not fingerprint you by IP address, User Agent or anything else. It therefore cannot recognise you between visits, or follow you to any other site. What it produces is aggregate counts: how many times a page was viewed, and the broad country, browser and device breakdown of those views. Nothing is linked to your account, and none of it runs in the Android app.
What we do not do
- We do not show ads or collect an advertising ID.
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not use third-party advertising SDKs, cross-site trackers or cookies for analytics.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone or background location.
How we use information
To provide and operate the service: authenticate your account, show nearby mosques and accurate prayer times, deliver reminders you opt into, and let mosque administrators manage their listings. Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
Data sharing
We do not share personal information with third parties except as required to operate the service (secure hosting@if(\App\Support\WebAnalytics::enabledFor('public')), and the cookieless website traffic measurement described above@endif) or to comply with the law. Publicly published mosque content (e.g. a mosque's name, address and prayer times) is, by nature, publicly visible.
Data retention & deletion
We keep account data while your account is active. You can delete your account and associated personal data at any time — instantly from the app (Profile → Delete account) or the website, or by request as described on our account deletion page; emailed requests are completed within 30 days, except where retention is legally required.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
