Salah Locator helps you find mosques near you and see their prayer times, announcements, events and live streams. Mosques publish their own information, so what you see comes from the mosque itself rather than an estimate.

It is completely free, and there are no ads — ever. Salah Locator is run as a community service (sadaqah jariyah). We show no advertising, collect no advertising ID, and use no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

No. Browsing mosques, viewing prayer timetables and using Pray Now all work without signing in. You only need an account to save favourite mosques, receive notifications, or manage a mosque you are responsible for.

Yes — a native Android app. You can find it via the Get the app link. It covers finding and browsing mosques, prayer timetables, Pray Now, favourites, notifications, a Qibla finder and a home-screen prayer-times widget.

This website is available in English, العربية (Arabic) and اردو (Urdu), with full right-to-left support. The Android app additionally ships in বাংলা (Bangla), Français, Bahasa Indonesia and Türkçe. Mosques may also publish their own content in multiple languages.

On first visit we estimate your city and country from your IP address so results appear immediately without asking for GPS — this is clearly labelled as estimated. You can switch to precise GPS or pick an area manually, and your choice is remembered. Distances are then measured directly against mosque coordinates, and you can search within 5, 10, 15 or 25 km.

Both, with the mosque taking priority. When a mosque publishes an official timetable — Adhan and Iqaamah for each prayer, including Jumu'ah — that is what you see, because only the mosque knows its own Iqaamah. Where a mosque has not published a timetable, times are calculated astronomically using the PrayTimes.org algorithm as a fallback. In the app you can choose your calculation method and Asr (madhab) preference under Profile settings.

Pray Now answers a specific question: which congregation can I still catch right now? For the current prayer it shows the earliest Iqaamah near you (leave now) and the one with the most time left to get there, plus the full list sorted by time with distances. It detects the current prayer automatically and rolls over to tomorrow's Fajr after Isha.

Yes. Every mosque carries its own timezone, and its prayer times are always interpreted and displayed in that mosque's local time. This means a mosque in another country shows its real local Iqaamah rather than a time shifted into your own timezone.

Yes. Mosques can publish Tarawih schedules, Eid prayer times and special or temporary timing changes separately from their regular timetable. Eid prayers are shown when they are upcoming rather than all year round.

Anyone responsible for a mosque can register and list it (see the section for Imams below). If a listing already exists but the information is wrong or out of date, use the Report option on the mosque page and our moderators will review it.

Yes. Mosque timetables and individual events can be downloaded as calendar (.ics) files, which import into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook and most other calendar apps.

Sign in and use the save (favourite) control on any mosque. Your saved mosques are then available on both the website and the Android app, since they are tied to your account rather than the device.

Only what you opt into. With your permission the app sends prayer-time reminders and updates from mosques you follow. Prayer alarms are scheduled on your device, so they work without a constant connection.

From your profile — on the website under Settings, or in the app under Profile → Edit profile. Changing your password requires your current password.

Immediately, and without contacting us: in the app under Profile → Delete account, or from the account deletion page on this website. This removes your account and associated personal data, including saved mosques and registered notification devices.

Yes. There are two ways, and they can be combined. First, an Imam (Mosque Admin) may register and own several mosque listings under a single account — there is no limit of one. Second, a person can be assigned as a Mosque Contributor to any number of existing mosques. Either way, every mosque you are responsible for appears together under "My mosques", and you switch between them without needing separate accounts or logging out.

The capabilities are the same — a Contributor can manage the mosque profile, prayer timings, announcements, events and fundraising exactly as the Imam can. The difference is how the link is made: an Imam owns the listing they registered, while a Contributor is assigned to a mosque by a Super Admin. Neither is something you sign up as: you become an Imam by registering a listing. Contributors are how a committee member, secretary or second Imam helps run a listing without taking ownership of it.

Contributor access is granted by a Super Admin, who assigns the person to one or more mosques from the platform's user management screen. Ask them to create a normal account first, then contact us with the mosque and the account email.

Create an ordinary account — there is no separate imam sign-up — then choose Register a mosque from your dashboard or from the app. You fill in the details, photo and map pin, and the listing is yours to manage from the moment it is created.

New self-service listings start as pending and are not publicly visible until a Super Admin has reviewed and approved them. While it is pending you can already fill in everything — profile, timings, announcements — so the listing is complete the moment it goes live. You will see a clear "pending approval" notice on your dashboard until then.

The mosque profile (description, address, contact details, facilities, photo and map pin), the full prayer timetable including Jumu'ah and special or temporary timings, Tarawih and Eid prayers, announcements (which can be pinned or saved as drafts), events, a photo gallery, management committee members, live streams, and fundraising campaigns.

Yes. Each mosque can have multiple streams, each either always-on or scheduled for specific days and a time window in the mosque's own timezone. "Live now" is then worked out automatically, and the mosque page shows both live players and the broadcast schedule. YouTube, Facebook and Vimeo links embed directly; other platforms fall back to a "Watch" link.

Fundraising is paused at the moment, so no campaigns are shown on the website or in the app. If you would like to support a mosque, please contact it directly using the phone number or website on its listing.

No. We never touch your money and take no cut. Salah Locator does not process payments at all. When fundraising is running, a campaign either links out to the mosque's own donation page or shows the mosque's instructions for giving directly — the money always goes to the mosque, never through us.

Every mosque listing, announcement, event and photo can be reported directly from the page it appears on. Reports go to a moderation queue and we aim to review every report within 48 hours. See our Content Policy for the full rules and the appeal process.

Only the Imam who owns the listing, any Contributor assigned to it, and platform Super Admins. Ordinary users cannot edit a mosque — they can report it, which routes the correction through moderation instead.

Your coordinates are sent to our server only to return nearby results. We do not store your location history and do not link location to your identity. Location is used only while you are actively using the app — never in the background.

As little as possible: your name, email and an encrypted password if you create an account; your saved mosques; and anonymous crash reports if the app fails. We do not sell personal data, and we do not access your contacts, photos or microphone. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

No. The REST API under /api/v1 exists to serve the Salah Locator app and is not open to third-party clients. Every endpoint requires a token that the app registers for on install, so it cannot be called from an unregistered client. If you have a genuine integration in mind — a mosque display board, a community website — get in touch rather than scraping; we would rather help you do it properly.

To protect the mosques whose data we host. An open API let anyone copy the whole directory in bulk or rebuild the app around our servers, at the mosques' and our expense. Requiring a registered client means we can spot abuse, cut off a single bad actor without affecting anyone else, and keep the service fast and free for everyone. Nothing you can see in the app has changed.

No. On first launch the app asks our server for an anonymous identifier so it can prove later requests come from a real install. It is not linked to your name, your account or your location, and it is not shared with anyone. The app reports only its version and device model, which we already receive with crash reports for debugging.
