Content Policy
Last updated: September 17, 2026
Salah Locator carries content published by mosque administrators — listings, prayer times, announcements, events and photos. This policy sets out what may be published, how to report content that breaks the rules, and what we do about it.
What is not allowed
- Sexually explicit, graphically violent or otherwise obscene material.
- Hate speech, harassment, or content attacking people over religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender, disability or sexual orientation — including sectarian abuse.
- Content promoting terrorism, extremism or violence of any kind.
- Listings for mosques that do not exist, or listings published by someone with no connection to the mosque.
- Knowingly incorrect prayer times or mosque details.
- Spam, scams, fraudulent fundraising, or unrelated advertising.
- Photos or text you do not hold the rights to, and photographs of identifiable worshippers published without their consent.
- Personal data about others — phone numbers, addresses or similar — published without consent.
Reporting content
Every mosque listing, announcement, event and photo can be reported directly from the Android app and from this website — no account is required.
- In the app: open the mosque, tap the ⋮ menu on the listing or on any announcement, event or photo, and choose Report.
- On the website: use the Report link shown alongside the same content.
- By email: write to support@abdohoo.app with a link to the content and the reason.
How reports are handled
Reports go to a moderation queue reviewed by our team. We aim to review every report within 48 hours. Where content breaks this policy we remove it; where a whole listing is fraudulent or repeatedly offending, we deactivate the listing so it no longer appears in the app or on the website, and we may suspend the account that published it. Content removal is recorded with the moderator and the time of the decision.
Reporting is anonymous to the mosque concerned — we do not tell a mosque administrator who reported their content.
If your content was removed
Mosque administrators who believe a removal was a mistake can appeal by writing to support@abdohoo.app from the email address on the account, describing the content and why it should be restored.
